Audiovisual artist and interdisciplinary researcher, she is currently developing film projects in the field of experimental documentary, combining sound exploration, familiar archives, technology and the materiality of the image.
She researches biomaterials derived from bacteria and fungi; their biological processes feature in her drawings, installations and academic texts, as well as in filters and film screens.
Monsters grow in the interstice of transformation. Their manifestations are the interference in the colonial history of Latin America. Their clamor announces the rebellion of symbols and the experience of impossibility. Imagining them is the unexpected and contradictory act of the dissidents.
There is no utopia more powerful than transforming daily practices and that is why I believe in the power of the mystery of organic matter, in the image that breaks the barrier of belonging, in the rebellion of the imaginations of monsters that are conjured up in the act of creating.
